The Progressive’s Unceasing Assault on Children

The Blaze posted that New Jersey will require second-graders to learn about gender identity and climate change: The post characterized the requirement as “It’s abuse, plain and simple’.” Abuse is the least of the requirement’s perniciousness. Second-grade students in New Jersey public schools will receive lessons in gender identity and climate change beginning this fall.

The Blaze post states:”In June 2020, New Jersey’s Board of Education approved student learning standards for “Comprehensive Health and Physical Education” with an 8-4 vote. The curriculum is set to go into effect by September of this year. The upcoming standards instruct teachers to “describe gender-role stereotypes and their potential impact on self and others” and “differentiate between sexual orientation and gender identity.”

Note the implied premises in the public-school guidance statement: “Analyze the influences of peers, family, media, social norms and culture on the expression of gender, sexual orientation, and identity.” The guidance statement states additionally: It “advocates for school and community policies and programs that promote dignity and respect for people of all genders, gender expressions, gender identities, and sexual orientations.”

One lesson plan for children in the first grade is titled “Pink, Blue and Purple.” The guidance expects first-graders to “define gender, gender identity and gender role stereotypes.” Children are also instructed to be able to “name at least two things they’ve been taught about gender role stereotypes, and how those things may limit people of all genders.”

Implied premises are a sophisticated rhetorical deceit used to advance an argument or policy without having to define the argument or policy and without having to prove its validity. The implied premises include that sexual orientation and identify have influences on family, etc., and also influence culture. The implied premises assume as true those issues that should be determined through rigorous debate by competent advocates on all sides.

Advocating to youngsters such broad expansive but amorphous policies and programs that promote dignity and respect for people of all genders, gender expressions, gender identities, and sexual orientations represents only part of the curriculum. The new standards also teach children about abortion. Second-graders are to be taught “the range of ways people express their gender and how gender-role stereotypes may limit behavior.”

A description of what students should learn by the eighth grade states: “Describe pregnancy testing, the signs of pregnancy, and pregnancy options, including parenting, abortion, and adoption.” By the end of the second grade, the standards state that children are expected to “list medically accurate names for body parts, including the genitals.” Children will also be taught about reproduction. Why children need to learn this information is never addressed.

The curriculum will also instruct second-grade students on “how climate change affects the health of individuals, plants and animals.” Again, note the implied premises in the curriculum description: the assumption that climate change exists in every metric the curriculum alleges and that climate change, if it does exist, has such pervasive effects.

New Jersey Republican state Sen. Michael Testa declared, “We fought for kids to return to school in person. Then we had to fight to take off our kids’ masks. Now, we have to watch our elementary school children, who have already fallen behind thanks to the Murphy lockdowns, learn about genitalia and gender identity? It’s abuse, plain and simple.”

The attack on young children is orchestrated, systematic, methodical, well-scripted and has an end goal. The end goal is not raising strong, confident, autonomous people. The goal is to undermine their essence as a human being and to be submissive to indoctrination.

The assault is unrelenting. The targets are carefully chosen. Those who manipulate the children most successfully will control the future. Simple. End of sentence. Stalin understood that; Mao understood that, and Hitler understood that self-evident truth. That fetid truism has seeped into many, if not most educational programs for young children. New Jersey is just a recent manifestation of the poison inflicted on the infinitely vulnerable young.
