LASHES, LIPSTICK & A LOT OF HEART: Atlanta Nonprofit Throws Beauty Bash for Cancer Warriors at Lenox

Forget the costumes. This Halloween, the real transformation is happening at Lenox Square.

Atlanta nonprofit Intentionally Pretty is rolling out its Beating Cancer Beautifully Experience on Saturday, October 31, at Bloomingdale’s inside Lenox Square. The doors open to the public at 1 p.m.

The lineup? Beauty workshops. Brow and lash demos. Wig support. Giveaways. Special shopping discounts. And to top it all off, a runway moment built to make cancer warriors feel confident, beautiful and celebrated.

The woman behind it all knows this fight firsthand.

Christelsie Johnson is a professional makeup artist who started the Beating Cancer Beautifully initiative back in 2016. Four years later, the mission got personal. Johnson was diagnosed with cancer herself in 2020.

She didn’t step back. She leaned in.

Today, Intentionally Pretty supports people navigating cancer through beauty workshops, care packages, self-care resources and community programs. The idea is simple: when treatment takes a toll on how you look, a little glam can go a long way toward how you feel.

Johnson and Intentionally Pretty vice president Suzette Carty stopped by ATL Live to share what the group is all about and what guests can expect on the 31st.

Want to go, or help out? Details are at intentionallypretty.org.
