On Friday, a shooting occurred around 5 p.m. between two individuals at Perimeter Mall in Atlanta, Georgia.
According to Fox 5 Atlanta, “Nancy Myerson used Facebook to let her friends and family know she was safe. She hid in the backroom of a store after the shots were fired inside the mall.”
“We heard massive shooting. There were five to six progressive shots, everyone was running,” Myerson told the outlet.
Authorities found one man on the ground at the food court of the mall when they arrived.
“I was eating my burrito and I heard bang, bang, bang, bang, bang,” said Haynes Vicente, who was in the food court during the shooting, according to Fox 5 Atlanta. “I just got up, grabbed my girl, and we ran.”
According to investigators, the suspect and the victim had an argument before the suspect took out a firearm and shot the victim. The victim allegedly returned fire, and hit the suspect.
“SkyFOX flew over the mall, which is located off Ashford Dunwoody Road, where numerous police cars with flashing lights and a fire truck could be seen in the parking lot. Numerous people could be seen walking exiting the area,” the outlet reported. “Authorities searched videos, and soon learned who they were looking for and what they were driving. They caught up with the man who they believe is the shooter at the Pleasant Dale Crossing Apartments, about 15 minutes from the mall.”
