HELPING HANDS: Community Carwash Holds Fundraiser for High School QB Who Sustained Serious Injury [WATCH]

Big Peach Car Wash in northern Georgia joined up with community members to raise money for a local high school quarterback who sustained a serious spinal injury during a football game back in August.

The event raised funds to assist with QB Carson Kimball’s medical costs.

“I didn’t know how much of an impact I really had on all these people and, I mean, there’s a line going around. For five minutes, we stopped car washes, and now there are cars that are lined up, and It’s just amazing to me,” Kimball said.

Event organizers told 11Alive that at least 500 vehicles got a nice wash and helped out one of their own.

From 7KPLC:

Kimball was seriously injured during a game on Aug. 30 after he took a hard hit and didn’t get back up.

It looked like any normal tackle, but when he didn’t move, the stadium went silent, Bremen High School Principal Tim Huff said.

Kimball was rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he underwent spinal surgery. He has no feeling below the waist, according to Huff.

But on Sept. 1, Kimball’s mother said he moved his toes while sleeping.

“He still can’t feel anything. But, it’s still huge,” she wrote on a GoFundMe page. “I know it’s a baby step but these prayers are working.”
