Doc & The Block is back with part 2 of the Adalius Thomas interview. Thomas, a 2-time Pro Bowler and Super Bowl champ, discusses his relationship with the “no excuses” mindset and taking responsibility in life through sports.
Thomas also discussed the importance of a good education and how it can positively impact the sport you decide to play and the professional endeavors you decide to pursue.
“I needed to achieve something that people couldn’t take from me,” Thomas said. “Football, you could take from me — but you can’t take my education. You can’t take my knowledge. You can’t take my intellect. That is the ultimate sign of growth and maturity. If something happens to me, I hurt my leg or tear my ankle, what am I going to do?”
“If you look at the mindset that it takes for a football player … take the same mindset and put it in the business world — put it into anything you do outside of football, you will be successful,” Thomas said. “You have to have an imagination. You have to study. You have to be dedicated. You have to be disciplined. You have to adjust on the fly.”
Thomas also discusses his businesses and entrepreneurial efforts, including nine restaurants and commercial real estate endeavors.
…and how his education, sports experience, and “no excuses” mindset help him excel in every aspect of his personal and professional life.
