An Infant Was Shot at a Northwest Atlanta Apartment

Atlanta police are investigating the shooting of an infant at a northwest Atlanta apartment. As reported, at about 5:25 p.m. on Thursday, Atlanta officers were called to The Commons apartment complex located at 3010 Middleton Road, just off of M.L. King Jr. Drive. Atlanta police officers informed that they  “found the baby alert, conscious, and breathing.”

Officers and investigators at the scene are trying to determine the circumstances relating to the wounded infant. Criminal activity and shootings have not been uncommon at this apartment.

As reported, “This is at least the fifth shooting at the complex since Thanksgiving.” Reporting coverage alludes to the several shootings that have occurred at this apartment complex. For example, at the end of January, where a triple shooting left a 17-year-old dead. Yet another lethal shooting had been reported at the apartment complex, when, in early January a man was killed. As reported, no information has been released about what led up to that crime.

Some of the shooting victims fell into the troublesome category of being at the wrong place at the wrong time. For example, in “mid-December, two people were shot. One of those victims was a mail carrier, delivering the mail to the complex. She was caught in the crossfire of a gunfight.” Other shootings and crimes that occurred at The Commons apartment complex can be quickly researched. Now a little baby is wounded.
