Media has reported that Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis has brought, what has been described as “a lot of drama with the Trump case in Georgia,” the drama being based on “her actions/scandals.” As reported abundantly, Judge McAfee “forced her to remove attorney Nathan Wade (with whom she had had a romantic relationship) from the prosecution team in order for her to remain on the case.”
Although Judge McAfee said there was a “significant appearance of impropriety that infects the current structure of the prosecution team,” he did not remove Willis from the case.
Willis continues to be in the public spotlight as she “fights to hold onto her job in the upcoming election.” As reported, “the Fulton County Democratic Party held its first primary debate, sponsored by the Atlanta Press Club, on Sunday. Willis didn’t even show up to debate her opponent, Christian Wise Smith.”
Evidently the visual effect of Willis not appearing has caused some media reporting to describe the event as frankly hilarious, as the camera focused on Willis’ empty podium. The moderator noted dispassionately: “Ms. Willis declined to participate in the debate and is represented by an empty podium.”
Candidate Smith “didn’t hold back, ripping into her for hiring Wade.” He said, “Things had to happen differently.” Smith added: “That issue is important to us in Fulton County and a lot of people across the country,” Smith said on the stage, Fox 5 reported. Smith focused on the money Willis paid to Wade. “When you pay one attorney nearly $1 million to handle one case, that leaves the rest of us vulnerable. That hurts everyone in Fulton County.”
Smith said he was paid “significantly less” when he worked in the office and “I was responsible for handling a lot more cases than one.” Smith also claimed that Willis “might have gone to the White House Correspondents dinner and that she was fundraising, but where was she for Fulton County?”
Despite all her scandal, reporting alleges “she still has the lead at this point in the polls.”
