An employee at an auto body repair shop in Decatur, Georgia, was shot to death as he was working on New Year’s Eve, according to WXIA-TV Atlanta.
Daniel Gordon, 24, was working at Tires Plus on New Year’s Eve when he was allegedly killed by 30-year-old Quadarius McDowell.
As reported, Detectives identified the suspect McDowell. DeKalb Police said McDowell had taken his car to the business for service. The police reported that, allegedly, “At some point, Gordon started to drive McDowell’s car into the parking lot.” According to the police assessment of the situation, “McDowell thought the employee (Gordon) was trying to steal his car and fired multiple shots from a handgun, striking the victim.”
The shooting occurred at the Tires Plus location shortly before 1:30 p.m. As reported, “When officers arrived, they found an employee of the repair shop with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital by EMS, where he later died.” DeKalb Police then identified the victim as Daniel Gordon. McDowell fled. Police officers were able to find him and arrested him “without incident.” Facing murder charges, McDowell has been booked into the DeKalb Jail.
