Atlanta’s Avalanche of Activities this Weekend

An abundance of events and activities will cascade onto Atlanta this weekend. The Atlanta Film Festival is underway, boasting a vast array of films for all aficionados.  For those enamored with antiques, “one of the biggest exhibitions in the state of Georgia is happening in Braselton.” Those with culinary tastes favoring seafood, Atlantic Station will fulfill your appetites. Want more? Comedy shows, concerts and a run to raise funds to cure cancer are all happening.

A detailed schedule of the events can be accessed here. Some of the prominent events include the 48th annual Atlanta Film Festival, open from April 25 through May 5 at the Plaza and Tara theaters. “The festival will feature screenings of 142 works by local and international filmmakers, including 27 world premieres.” Workshops, panels and related festivities will be offered.

Readers may be forgiven for not knowing that April 26 is National Pretzel Day. Visitors can celebrate this epic holiday “by checking out the Pretzel Day Art Market at Six Bridges Brewing in Johns Creek. Local art, beer and pretzels will be proudly featured.

From April 26 through the 28thBraselton Antique & Artisan Festival The Braselton Antique & Artisan Festival will be held. More than three hundred and fifty vendors will  offer “vintage, furniture, farmhouse, handcrafted, primitives, rustic, salvage, antique, good ole junk and more.” The experience will be enhanced by “12 food trucks and live music.”

Another example of the prolific offerings to the public this coming weekend is the unique Networkin’ & Headshottin’ with The Creators’ Brand, which will be open to the public from 2 to 5 p.m. on April 27. “The Creators’ Brand is hosting Networkin’ & Headshottin’ on Magnolia Street NW in Atlanta.”  The public will have the opportunity to engage with local creators of all kinds (film, fashion, visual arts, culinary arts and more) and get one’s photograph taken.

Perhaps most delectable will be Atlanta Seafood Festival at Atlantic Station. Visitors will enjoy the experience of delicious seafood dishes, refreshing drinks, and live music. A cautionary note is prudence suggests that the $65.00 tickets should be purchased soon because they may get sold out.
