Police are reporting that a man near a Chick-fil-A in Rome, Georgia, on Shorter Avenue, man shot a woman and then shot himself. As reported initially, the police were dispatched to what was described as an “accident with injury.” However, before they arrived, the police officers were informed that the incident was a shooting and not what would normally be categorized as an “accident.”
The couple, both residents of Rome, that was killed has been identified “as 56-year-old Anthony Wayne Green and 39-year-old Cassie Lashae Davis.” As reported, according to the police, the couple knew each other and were a couple involved in what was described as a “domestic relationship.” A map of area is here. The police clarify that the shooting was not “related to Chick-fil-A although it occurred on the restaurant’s property.”
Officers said they were called out to the restaurant along Shorter Avenue around 7 a.m. Wednesday. When they arrived at the scene, the police found Green and Davis dead inside a car on Chick-fil-A’s property. As reported, the police concluded that “from all indications, Green shot and killed Davis, and then turned the gun on himself.”
