On Wednesday evening, as reported by the police, a 14-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy were arguing at The Quarry Apartment Homes, a DeKalb County apartment complex 400 block of Meadowood Drive off Fairington Parkway.
The Quarry is described as a “residential community” featuring two and three bedroom apartments in Lithonia, GA. The apartment complex offers “spacious layouts and amenities” that welcome you home, “along with exceptional service and an ideal location within walking distance to shopping, dining and entertainment options.”
The shooting at The Quarry occurred just after 7:30 p.m. Wednesday evening. DeKalb County Police report that officers arrived at the apartment complex and found the 16-year-old male “suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound.” As reported the teen was rushed to an area hospital where he succumbed to his wounds. “Investigators say the shooting was sparked during an argument among several children.”
The 14-year-old boy has been arrested and charged with murder. Police spent Wednesday evening “combing over the area for evidence, speaking to witnesses, and checking for any surveillance video.” The names of the teens have not been released.
