Rescue & Reunion: Cobb County Boy Reunites with Firefighters Who Saved His Life [WATCH]

Ten-year-old Evan Davis returned to Fire Station 14 this week with one goal: to thank the firefighters who saved his life.

Back on March 18, Evan and his dad were heading to soccer practice when their car was struck in a serious crash on Canton Road near Hawkins Store Road. Evan suffered multiple traumatic injuries and was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

“He was lying in the bed for weeks without his eyes even opening, and all we could do is pray,” said his mother, Robyn Davis.

Lt. Logan Dean of Cobb County Fire was among the first responders on the scene.

“We were starting IVs, we were trying to secure his injuries as best as we could,” he said. Dean also rode in the ambulance with Evan to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.

After months of intense rehab, Evan is walking, smiling, and full of determination. He credits his recovery to a mantra he repeated daily: “I am brave, I am fierce, I’m strong, and I never ever give up.”

On July 8, Evan and his family reunited with the firefighters who worked to save him. For the first responders, the emotional meeting was a rare and rewarding moment. “It’s nice to see the outcome,” said Dean. “It reminds us that what we do works.”

Evan’s recovery continues, with rehabilitation expected to conclude by the end of July.

Meanwhile, a GoFundMe campaign launched by his family has raised over $10,000 to help cover medical expenses.

“He’s a miracle,” his mom said. “We’re just grateful.”
