Branson Blevins is just 11, but he’s already in the fight of his life…
Blevins is battling aggressive leukemia and undergoing a last-chance stem cell treatment in Italy — a high-stakes hope pinned to his mom, Nichole, who just underwent the procedure doctors pray will save her son.
In the middle of it all, the Atlanta Braves stepped up to the plate with an act of kindness.
The team sent Branson a care package that left them “speechless” — a jolt of joy from home just when they needed it most. The package included an Austin Riley signed jersey and bat, a Chris Sale signed jersey, and a signed Ronald Acuña Jr. bat.
“We are completely speechless,” Nichole said. “This isn’t just baseball gear. It’s fuel for a little boy who is fighting with every ounce of strength he has left.”
According to 11Alive.com, the package also included a custom glove with his nickname, Hollywood 27, engraved, and a handwritten note from the Pace family who, along with Better Baseball, helped make the care package happen.
“This has left our entire family in tears,” Nichole said. “Not just because of what was inside, but because of the hope behind it. There’s no way to express what it means to have people we’ve never met pour this kind of encouragement into our son’s heart.”
“You’ve made him feel seen,” Nichole said. “You’ve given him a reason to smile today… and in this season, that’s everything.”
