‘A Front Row Seat to God’s Work’: Georgia Baby Born at 22 Weeks Inspires Others Two Years Later [WATCH]

A Georgia toddler born at just 22 weeks and one day is defying every odd. His name is Tuff Born, and he’s been living up to it since his first breath.

Doctors didn’t expect him to survive. He weighed just over a pound at birth — so small, his parents could barely believe he had the strength to fight.

“How much of a fighter he truly is,” his father, Jake Born, said. “He’s a wild man now! The epitome of a wild toddler.”

Tuff is now two years old, celebrating his birthday in the very place that saved his life—the NICU at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital. The same staff who once hovered over his incubator now chase him through the halls as he laughs, runs, and frosts cupcakes.

“We are just so blessed,” his mom,  Michela Born, said. “That’s all I can say.”

Tuff’s story is rare and miraculous.

From 11Alive.com

Registered nurse Dixie Bonds, who was by Tuff’s side throughout his NICU stay, said he’s the youngest baby to ever survive and be discharged from Wellstar Kennestone’s NICU.

“Tuff is a kid that just inspires everyone,” Bonds said. “I think about him and his tiny self when he came out, and then the kid he is today, it reminds me we can do hard things when we have the right support around us.”

She says she’s so grateful she got to see Tuff thrive.

“I was able to have a front row seat to God’s work and the miracle that he is,” Bonds added.
